Wednesday Favorites #3 (and a few updates)

It's been six months since i've updated this blog with anything. So, I thought as a new post I would start with something easy and share a few things that I love and give a few updates on life.

Let's start with some updates.

+ We adopted a new puppy, named Ripley. We think she is a boxer/black lab mix. (-->)

+ I've been freelancing for a full-time for a year now! I can't believe how fast this past year has gone.

+ I'm crossing a major thing off my 'things to do this year list' from the start of the year.
I booked a trip to Europe this November, for a week! I'm so excited and I can't wait.

+ After living here in SC for 6 plus months, I've come to the conclusion that I'm more of a city person than I thought I was and I actually miss Ohio.

+ I'm reviving Ink & Arrows and Issue 11 will be releasing soon.

My Creative Market Releases

Falling Flowers Logo Template // A sweet feminine logo for a boutique or brand. $10

Wanderlust Square Magazine Template // Whether you are a designerphotographerblogger or content creator, try showing off your work with the Wanderlust Template. $7

'Skull' Vincent Van Gough Vans // There was doubt that these would end up in my possession. Van Gough is one my favorite artists and I had to pick these up.

Pendulum Pilsner by Raven Beer (x) // I'm not much of a beer drinker but I had to grab a six pack of Pendulum Pilsner just because of the artwork. (As a bonus the beer is pretty good so it wasn't waste!)

Blackout by Dannika Dark // This is the fifth book in the Crossbreed series and it was pretty good. I definitely recommend this series if you like paranormal romance.

Tomb Raider Archives 1-4 by Top Cow // Comics aren't my thing. But recently I found one of my original TR comics from when I was little and it sparked my interest. So I went out and grabbed the 4 archive collection books with all the comics.

Freelance, and Business, and Stuff by Hoodzpah Design Co// "How to start your own business, grow your client base, and promote yourself without selling out or starving. This no faff, no fluff guide is peppered with applicable advice (things we learned from starting our own business), unasked-for humor, and worksheets (homework, gasp!) to help you just get started already. Because raw talent and good ideas aren’t enough. And because you can do this. Really. By Amy Hood and Jen Hood, co-founders of Hoodzpah (the branding agency site you’re on now), Odds & Sods (a goods line), and Connecting Things (a creative meetup)."
A must-have for freelance creatives.

Wednesday Favorites #2

Since moving at the beginning of February, i've been loving all things home related. So, below are a few things i've bought for my room. Also, this month i've had the chance to get back to designing editorial pages and I couldn't be happier so i'm sharing a my favorite magazine and book at the moment.

Wood Farmhouse Desk World Market
I was in need of a new desk, badly. My previous desk was a glass drawing table and it bowing when I had my iMac on it. But this desk is sturdy and as a bonus it's wider, so I more room. (x)

Paddywax Candles Library Collection Poe
My two favorite things; candles and Edgar Allan Poe. (x)

Double Horn Necklace The Pretty Eclectic
Not home related but I wanted to share anyway. I've been on the hunt for one of these necklaces for so long. So when I found this one I had to buy it. (x)

What's Gabby Cooking Gabby Dalkin
The recipes in What’s Gaby Cooking are fresh, simple and easy to follow. I love that the recipes were real and not overly fancy or complicated. They were for everyday meals and snacks. I also enjoyed the personal introduction to the cookbook and the page about kitchen staples. I think that page will be handy for those who are just starting out cooking at home or just looking for a kitchen refresh.  *A bonus, for me anyway, was the beautiful design of the cookbook and the photography. They went well together and didn't distract from the recipes. Review copy provided NetGalley. Book Avalible April 17th 2018. (x)

Geller Modern Dining Chair Target
I wanted a new desk chair and I came across this when shopping and thought it went with my desk. Honestly, it's a bit uncomfortable to sit on for a long period but that forces me to actually get away from my desk. (x)

Dead Heat Print Dan Dos Santos
The covers of the Mercy Thompson Series and the Alpha and Omega Series (Above) by Patricia Briggs are some of my favorites. The cover illustrator Dan Dos Santos has prints of  each cover and I had to grab the one above and the Silence Fallen cover. (x)(x)

J.R.R. Tolkien Issue Faeire Magazine
Anything Tolkien and fantasy related you have my attention 100%. This is a beautiful magazine filled with interesting articles and it's made with such passion. (x)

Playlist I'm Loving

You can never go wrong with Led Zeppelin.

Wednesday Favorites #1

I'm trying to kickstart this blog with something easy. Below are a few things that I love in real life and a few things that I've seen online that i'm loving currently.

#1 Cleveland Museum of Art is my all time favorite place in Cleveland. I can (and have) spend hours wandering through the rooms staring at all the beautiful works of art.

#3 Go to Extremities Jewelry Stand I have a love for all things strange and this jewelry stand from ModCloth makes my day.

#5 Ohio Charm Necklace In a few months I will be living in South Carolina and I've been thinking of getting a cute little necklace to remind me of where i'm from. I found this little one on Etsy and I think I might have to get it.

#2 Sigma 35mm 1.4 This is the first high quality lens i've bought and i'm so happy with it.

#4 Order's Up Kate Spade Plates I love the all American diner esthetic. These plates will be in my cupboard when I finally have a space of my own.

#6 Crossbreed Series by Dannika Dark I've always had a love for paranormal romance books. But there are very few that I enjoy. But recently I found this series and I got engrossed into the world.

Bonus: Here is playlist of cover songs that I love.
